In 2018, Antoni Arola conceived Lámina, a series of pendant lamps. Now, the family adapts to all kinds of needs with its table, floor and wall versions and expands to new possibilities with Lámina Dorada.
Light is everything. Without light, we wouldn't have design, we wouldn't have anything. That's why it's so appealing to work with, because it's immaterial. My lamps are not formal; what interests me is the light, the playfulness of light.

The possibilities of Lámina
From suspension to three new lighting typologies, the system adapts to all kinds of uses. Lámina 165 and Lámina 45, named after the length of their shades, now include floor and wall solutions. Lámina 45 also offers a new table lamp version.
With its flattened arch and a golden shade, the warm light of Lámina Dorada offers an atmosphere of intimacy in its suspension, wall, floor and table formats. This variation of sculptural evocations balances poetry with lighting efficiency and illuminates with surprising quality.
The essence of light and form
With the minimum use of materials, Arola configures this lamp through the union of two single elements: a line of light and a thin metal sheet. Together, they form the essence of all formats.
The virtues of reflected light
Arola promotes the virtues of reflected light with Lámina. Its light source, an integrated dimmable LED, projects onto the metallic shade which, acting as a reflector, reflects it back in multiple directions. The result is an indirect light that provides high visual comfort.

Antoni Arola
Antoni Arola (Tarragona, 1960) set up his own Estudi Arola in 1994. His first lamp was Nimba, published by Santa & Cole in 1997, and from then on his passion for light overcame his growing prestige as an interior and industrial designer. His work has been presented in Barcelona, London, Madrid, Mexico, Milan, New York and Tokyo, and has won numerous awards, including the 2003 National Design Award.
Interested in contexts which are remote for him, such as African, Ottoman or Japanese cultures, Arola can stimulate formal metaphors that captivate with their simplicity and poetic forcefulness. It is not in vain that his artistic training is elegantly reflected in his designs, fusing research and intelligence in materials to configure a wide-ranging, rich and evocative work where light is the fundamental material. Arola has become one of the most consolidated representatives of his generation, as each new product of his serve as a source of inspiration for others.
