Santa & Cole x Monocle
30 de April 2018
In collaboration with Monocle magazine, we are proud to be able to present a special version of the Cestita Batería lamp, originally designed in 1962 by Miguel Milá.
This new cordless, rechargeable version that bears the hallmark on the cherry wood structure with the renowned logo of the English brand was presented in January at Café Monocle during the Maison et Objet Fair in Paris.
This is a limited edition among the newest products to be released by Monocle alongside the iconic Swiss design auxiliary unit USM Haller and the handcrafted breakfast stool Nikari made in Finland by the team from the journal.
The excellent relations between Monocle and Santa & Cole began more than two years ago when journalist Liam Aldous and photographer Salva López used a feature-length report in order to depict and explain Santa & Cole’s means of editing and, specifically, its relationship with the designer Miguel Milá. On the basis of this partnership, the concept came about to put together a film on Parc de Belloch, Santa & Cole’s headquarters (and indeed the firm’s home); accordingly, interest in Cestita Batería and its designer became widespread.
