Jacob Isaacksz. van Ruisdael (atribuido a)
Jacob Izaaksz van Ruisdael was a Dutch Baroque painter specialised in landscape painting and who also produced some engravings. He stands out as a painter of trees, and his representation of the foliage, in particular the age of the oak leaf, which is characterised with great precision. Especially noted were his landscapes, with clouds that spread like a vault overhead and determine the light and shadow of the objects.
The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum is a Madrid art gallery exhibiting the works of old and modern masters. It owes its existence to the lease agreement (1988) and the subsequent acquisition by the Spanish Government (1993), of the most valuable core of the private collection built over seven decades by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family.
