Germán Rodríguez Arias

Germán Rodríguez Arias was a founding member of the GATCPAC architectural movement of the 1930s, together with Josep Torres Clavé. Designer and interior architect, he embodied the notions of economy, efficiency, functionality, and beauty, and was a supporter and advocate of rationalism in Spain. In 1939, Rodríguez Arias went into exile in Chile, where he was appointed with the renovation of Pablo Neruda s house in Isla Negra, among other architectural and furniture design projects. In 1959, he returned to Ibiza, where he spent the last years of his life.
