True to the adage of his era, “the beautiful and the useful”, Lluís Domènech i Montaner (1849-1923) integrated all of the arts into a boundless repertoire of forms, lines and colors. The result was a unique architectural program that consolidated a language and aesthetic models, setting the foundations for modern design. This book traces his work and thought through numerous articles and offers an analysis of his extensive ornamental program. It also compiles his most outstanding designs in glass, wood, iron, stone, hydraulic flooring, mosaic and ceramic, masterfully executed by his collaborators, to whom the author also renders tribute.
