Robert Delaunay

Robert Delaunay was a pioneering painter of lyrical abstraction and co-founder of Orphism, a movement focused on color, rhythm, and light over figuration. Influenced by Cubism and Fauvism, he developed a unique visual language using pure colors and concentric circles to evoke motion and harmony. His series on the Eiffel Tower and Windows are landmarks of early modernist abstraction. Alongside his wife, Sonia Delaunay, he merged art with everyday life through textile, graphic, and stage design. His vibrant, color-based vision placed him at the heart of European modernism.
