Tekiò—meaning “adaptation” in Japanese—fuses ancient artisanal techniques with Warm to Dim LED technology, allowing for adjustable intensity and color temperature in tandem. A unique contemporary object, a contrast between the ancestral and the avant-garde, with highly technical structures wrapped in handcrafted paper made by Japanese artisans.
Depending on the chosen configuration, it can take both circular and linear forms. Whether alone or combined, its serene luminous power can shift from a whisper to an exclamation.

Designer Anthony Dickens, from London, drew inspiration from the traditional washi paper lantern, which dates back to the 14th century and remains a common object in everyday Japanese life. This paper—made globally famous by Isamu Noguchi’s Akari lamps—has been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Strong yet supple, even malleable, the material filters light with texture, creating spaces of calm and peaceful resonance.
