The exhibition builds upon the book published by Apartamento Studios on the life and work of Catalan designer Miguel Milá, sharing its name: Miguel Milá. A Life in Design.

Without aiming to be a retrospective, it seeks to offer a fresh and renewed perspective on Miguel Milá, highlighting a timeless relevance that reflects the warmth and charm so characteristic of the designer.

Through this showcase, Santa & Cole materializes its campaign to connect with new audiences and promote Miguel Milá and his prolific design practice. Julia Pettersson, Communication Director at Santa & Cole, states: “We have been editing Miguel Milá’s designs since 1958. Together we have built a collection of 31 designs in our catalogue, and now we would like to bring Milá’s legacy and complete body of work to an international audience.” The exhibition will tour internationally across Asia, the United States, and South America.

Galería Santa & Cole features a video projection produced by Apartamento Studios alongside current production pieces, original historical versions, and working sketches that reveal other creative facets of Milá.

The display includes four of his most iconic original designs (Cestita, 1962; TMM, 1961; M68, 1962; and FAD, 1974), which remain just as relevant decades later. These designs are crafted by artisans using noble materials, built to endure over time and tell their own stories.
