Federico Correa & Alfonso Milá. An Imagined Space
Federico Correa used to say that to be an architect one didn't need to know how to draw—though he admitted he was particularly good at it. A virtuoso with coloured pencils, he had a remarkable ability to project in conical perspective based on the imagined project, thus giving shape (and colour) to his interpretation of the architectural legacy of the Modern Movement.
In perfect complementarity with his inseparable friend and partner Alfonso Milá, they worked in service of Barcelona’s bourgeoisie. For them, they designed homes, factories, shops and workspaces, places for social life, and summer houses. The Neoseries of 24 of his drawings, selected by Santa & Cole in collaboration with the COAC, offer a pictorial journey through these imagined, drawn, and projected spaces in which colour—used with precise measure in each case—is the main protagonist.
