Henningsvær is a fishing village in northern Norway. Expeditionen is a rorbu cabin there, a traditional fisherman’s house in red-painted wood, listed as historical heritage and restored by Paulsen & Nilsen studio.

The interior respects the structure, with its exposed beams, but adds warmth. The walls inside were painted vermilion, carrying the red of the exterior inside. Other materials and textures chosen to finish the design include concrete, steel, pine panels, wool, and linen.

From the double-height ceiling hangs the Cirio Múltiple by Antoni Arola. Its candles float above the dining table, in a place where daylight can last for hours or barely arrive.
