Founded by Erik Heywood, Book/Shop is a store and creative studio centered on books and the reading experience. Over the past decade, it has helped redefine what a bookstore can be—not just a place to buy rare and curated titles, but a space that designs furniture for books, creates objects inspired by reading, and collaborates with artists and publishers to shape a broader, more inspiring, more livable book culture.

Heywood’s work starts from a simple idea: to bring the beauty, poetry, and intelligence of great books into the physical objects and experiences of Book/Shop. This vision has led to a range of products, installations, and collaborations with institutions such as The New York Times, The Whitney Museum, Drake’s, The Eames Institute, The Paris Review, Small (Paris), and The Aperture Foundation.

Book/Shop isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a way of living with books. A community for those who read, observe, think, and design through them.
