Claudia Valsells is a colorist and artist. Deeply connected to color since her early days as a mural painter, she spent over two decades collaborating with architects and designers through her own studio, arts&claus. After years dedicated to color forecasting and consultancy, she took a new path as a creator, stepping fully into her artistic voice—where her instinct, gift for color, and personal chromatic language come to life. Today, she combines her artistic practice with color consulting for the architecture and interior design industries. arts&claus was founded with the goal of highlighting the value of color in the world of architecture and design. It was during this period that Valsells recognized the need for a tool to help communicate color more effectively. In response, she created her own color chart in 2000: a carefully edited palette of over two hundred references, designed to improve the use of color in architecture and industrial design. More than two decades later, it remains a reference point in countless studios. She recently collaborated with Santa & Cole on a collection of eight colors for the M64 lamp, originally designed by Miguel Milá—Spain’s most iconic industrial designer. Her chromatic intervention opened up new emotional and visual possibilities for the M64. While developing the M64 palette, Valsells explored how the selected colors interacted, presenting the collection in a series of color harmonies. From this process emerged six Neoseries—Santa & Cole’s fine art reproductions.
