Luia Corsini (New York, 1994) has found in Mexico City a turning point in her artistic practice. After growing up between Rome and New York—two capitals steeped in architectural and cultural tradition—her arrival in this city marks a stage of creative maturity, where previously acquired visual languages converge with a renewed sensitivity to space. Fascinated by the work of Luis Barragán, Corsini brings to her compositions the serenity of architectural volumes and the chromatic vibrancy of the Mexican environment.

This exhibition brings together six works created between her studios in Mexico City and Malibu, each clearly reflecting the influence of the local context.

With a strong foundation in Minimalism and Color Field painting (with references such as Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, and Mark Rothko informing her vision), Corsini structures her practice around the grid, in dialogue with Rosalind Krauss’s seminal essay Grids. However, far from being anchored in formal repetition, her work unfolds with a distinct warmth drawn from her lived experience across diverse geographies.

In Mexico City, this geometry becomes inhabited: her abstract structures engage in a dialogue with the architecture, light, and visual history of the city that now hosts her.
