Klas Ernflo creates intriguing visual puzzles through a process that is both spontaneous and introspective. Trained in graphic design, he uses flat color through ink techniques and draws inspiration from artists like Claes Oldenburg. His work is defined by the decontextualization of everyday objects, questioning their forms, playing with color, and injecting humor into our relationship with the material world. Ernflo’s practice spans drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation. His childhood close to nature in Sweden strongly influences his visual language. He embraces craftsmanship, exploring patchwork with hand-dyed fabrics, ceramics, and woodwork, adding a tactile and poetic dimension to his work. His art has appeared in publications such as Apartamento, Domus, Frame, and Le Monde d’Hermès, and has been exhibited internationally in Los Angeles, Düsseldorf, and Barcelona.
