Eulàlia Serra
Barcelona, 1943
Born in Barcelona in 1943, Eulàlia Serra studied interior design at ELISAVA and went on to continue her education at Parsons School and Columbia University in New York. Upon returning to her hometown, she founded Fil i Grana, a textile project that reimagined traditional embroidery through a contemporary lens.
In 1994, she joined Ignasi de Solà-Morales’ architecture studio, where she contributed to the reconstruction of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, including the design of the Liceu lamp, now part of Santa & Cole’s collection.
From 1995 to 2001, she served as vice president of FAD, where she championed the connection between design, gastronomy, and material culture through the creation of Alimentació/FAD. She later led the restoration of the ground floor of the Palau de Pedralbes and curated and judged key exhibitions on Catalan design.
Diligent and multifaceted, Eulàlia Serra reveals a singular path—beginning in interior design, moving through product design, and ultimately embracing the world of food design.
