The Sumahan Hotel is located in Çengelköy, a district of the Asian coast of Istanbul in which there is a real air of the Bosporus.
The architects Nedret and Mark Butler transformed a unique family inheritance a former complex in which one of the typically Ottoman spirits was distilled into an intimate, elegant and comfortable hotel facing the sea. The Sumahan has 18 rooms whose decoration, as a result of the contrast of historical elements and modern pieces, succeeds in transmitting the decadent and at the same time pioneering air of the city of Istanbul. The lighting of this magical hotel on the Bosporus comes from two lamps from Santa & Cole’s catalogue: the GT7 hanging lamp designed by the Santa & Cole team and the Lucero wall lamp designed by José de Rivera and Rosario Moreno Torres.
