Santa & Cole

Santa & Cole´s Contemporary Collection proposes everyday objects whose presence in our home is affable but not prominent, and which can therefore be incorporated into our lives for the long term. We have published this catalogue since 1985, slowly but surely, for twenty-three years.

Lamps whose arc of light is functionally good, from the gentle half-light to the vigour of full intensity, but which are above all intellectually emotive lamps, in view of their beauty, well conceived or which tell a significant story. Tables which present themselves effortlessly. Shelves where out interests rest within sight. This Catalogue contains some of the best products from major, mainly Spanish, contemporary designers, concerned by a certain humanist idea of the shared life of a home, where we give and receive.

In Santa & Cole we have been developing our Urban Division for more than twenty years, working to design urban elements which allow the execution of better, more human and social spaces, with a better experience of use and maintenance, in which light, water, respite, security or information find a reasonable and accessible place.

The city is already, inevitably, the mental place where we all live and act, our common Nature. My house inserted in my city, which is urban and rural at the same time, inserted in turn in an interconnected world in which we are all free and curious citizens, guardians of creation in peace. Therefore, in Santa & Cole, we want to help to achieve the most harmonious development of our cities. This brings us to this catalogue, where our efforts materialize.

In Santa & Cole we cultivate trees for urban reforestation. We seek to shape them so that they fit into our streets better, organizing their development. We grow species resistant to the most common diseases and plagues, with genetic codes in some cases restricted by patent.

We consider how they combine with streetlamps, benches and other urban elements so that the citizen´s experience is more harmonious, all according to the most demanding European criteria of certified quality, including microchips which allow their traceability and a more intelligent management. Our trees are living elements raised to coexist with man. A truly living design.

We are thus sowing our seeds of responsibility for the future, convinced of the enormous value of the natural design of social spaces, where trees, shrubs and plants again occupy their refreshing space between asphalt and cement. Seeds that we see growing each day.

The philosophy of Ediciones de Belloch, the Santa & Cole group´s publishing house, seeks to promote the figure of the main designers and thinkers who have changed the word. With this in mind, we would like to present our three collections of books, each with its own personality.

Design Classics and Contemporary Designers are monographs on authors whose work is a reference for past, present and future generations. Los ojos fértiles covers a broader range of subjects, with essays on industrial design and issues of a more sociological, or even philosophical, orientation.
