On the occasion of the appointment of Turin as World Design Capital 2008, Santa & Cole Italia suggested to the City Council the transformation of one its most emblematic squares thanks to the abstract arrangement of elements of street furniture. The ultimate idea was to show the world the importance that the recovery of the city's squares had for the use and enjoyment of the citizens in the transformation of Barcelona in the 1980s and beginning of the 90s.

Given her career history closely linked to the modernization of Barcelona, Beth Galí accepted the challenge of transforming the Piazza de Porta Palatina. For the architect, the temporary nature of the exhibition converted this project into what any architect would want to do, as it allowed her to invent, play and experiment with the space.
