The Environmental Park forms part of the PRAE (Environmental and Educational Proposals), a new environmental education model promoted by the Autonomous Community of Castile and León which also includes an Environmental Resources Centre (ERC). Conceived as a complex for social, technical and educational use, the PRAE Project is intended to transmit, through enjoyment and experimentation, the knowledge and the attitudes necessary to achieve a sustainable future.
The winner in 2007 of Castile and León's Sustainable Construction Award, the Environmental Park is a comprehensive environmental project designed under strict criteria of eco-efficiency and sustainability, criteria which govern the decision to install throughout the park the NeoRomántico Sostenible bench published by Santa & Cole, an example of environment-friendly street furniture attentive to new technologies and trends in the public space.
