The project for the recovery of Montjuïc, which began on the occasion of the Olympics, pursued the idea of converting the mountain into the city's big central park, with a broad range of culture, sport and leisure.
The new Montjuïc's gardens route includes Joan Brossa park, a six-hectare space previously occupied by the city's former amusement park. A garden designed for the enjoyment of the senses and with splendid views of Barcelona, where the Bancal bench "designed by Julià Espinàs and Olga Tarrasó for Santa & Cole" allows the visitor to rest.
