The recently inaugurated Ravello Auditorium, designed by the master Oscar Niemeyer, looks out over the Mediterranean Sea in one of the most beautiful scenes of the Amalfi Coast on the Gulf of Salerno, considered a World Heritage site.
According to the mayor of Ravello, Paolo Imperato, "it is a work which is in balance with nature, for everyone". The structure of the auditorium is formed by a large white acoustic reinforced concrete shell with a capacity for 400 people, which can hold concerts, lectures, dance shows, exhibitions and other cultural events.
To offer a broader view of the building and highlight its relationship with the surrounding space, Niemeyer planned a square which, in addition to allowing visitors to enjoy an incredible view appreciated from the top of the hill, is in itself a fascinating meeting place.
For the signposting and lighting of this outdoor space several Área beacons, designed by Claudi Aguiló and Xavier Nogués, have been used.
