Ravenna (Italy)

The headquarters of the Dopo Di Noi Foundation, which takes in disabled people, is located in the building of a former rural school restored as a hospital. In view of its location, an effort was made to increase the connections between the inside and the outside, using big windows open to the garden.

Special attention was paid to the indoor spaces, where an attempt has been to avoid the appearance of a conventional hospital. The robustness required for the furniture has been achieved by means of a very meticulous selection of the materials, using elements characteristic of the urban environment for the seats, but sufficiently comfortable to be used in indoor spaces, such as the Iola bench, designed by RCR Arquitectes and published by Santa & Cole.

Several NeoRomántico pata liviana benches (designed by Miguel Milá) stand out both inside and outside.
