Since 2001, Fira de Girona together with the Association of Nursery Owners of Girona have demonstrated the latest trends and new products from the gardening and plant sector at the SPV (Plant, Garden and complements Fair) with considerable success and an increasingly broad impact. Companies manufacturing and distributing seeds, fertilizer, earth, phytosanitary products or those related to garden tools and machinery have been represented there. In short, it is a major showcase for the latest developments and trends in this lively and dynamic sector.  
 
One of the Fair’s most important activities is to present the INNO SPV prizes, annual awards presented to people, companies and initiatives contributing to the progress of the sector. Two categories receive awards: new plant products and non-plant products. In the 10th Fair, held from 16 to 18 September, Santa & Cole Tree Nursery Division received second prize in the best non-plant product category for the Air-Pot growing system, an innovative container which prevents the circling of the roots and allows an optimal development of the root structure.
 
All the prizes were presented during the sector dinner, where the “Golden Leaf” was also presented, in recognition of people who, thanks to their work and commitment, make it possible to disseminate and to know the nursery plants from different areas of Europe.
