From Tuesday June 28th and for fifteen intense days, Barcelona has an essential appointment with the world of design. The FADFest, organized by the FAD in the context of the Barcelona Design Festival, will showcase a set of activities around different dimensions of design, in the form of awards, conferences, debates, workshops and a “route of design”.

The Convent dels Àngels has organized FADExpo as the FADFest’s opening event, in order to bring design closer to new audiences and show a global vision of the efforts currently being made in different creative sectors around the country. Among the works exhibited, are the Cirio lamp, by Antoni Arola (2010), the Candela Streetlamp, by Gonzalo Milá (2010), and the garden lamp Oco, by Causas Externas (2010), as finalists of the Delta ADI-FAD Awards 2011. The winners will be announced on July 7th during the awards ceremony that will take place at the MACBA Auditorium.

The FADFest thus brings together, for the first time in one exhibition, all finalist and award-winning projects in the different categories of the FAD’s design awards, which include the Laus, Delta, Sebastià Guash, City to City, MODA-FAD and the Architecture and Interior Design Awards. The prizes will be awarded during the FADFest.
