'This lamp arises from the big public lamps. It was almost certainly in Istanbul, in the big mosques, where I saw them for the first time'.
This spring will see the presentation of Santa & Cole's presence in the United States, with participation in the ICFF of New York and HOSPITALITY DESIGN of Las Vegas fairs.05/05/2010
The year 2010 is Santa & Cole's 25th anniversary and it is celebrating by crossing the Atlantic. From 15 to 18 May it is presenting its new products for the first time at the ICFF of New York, and from 19 to 21 May it will again participate in the HOSPITALITY DESIGN fair of Las Vegas. On the last occasion on which this fair was held, Santa & Cole won the IIDA Award of Excellence for the Belloch chair.
Santa & Cole will also be present on the14th May in New York at the inauguration of the Spanish Design Salon in the Tribeca Grand Hotel, in whose lounge a permanent exhibition will be installed with the best Spanish design, commissioned by Surface magazine, the ICEX and the RED association, together with the architect Winka Dubbeldam from the Archi-Tectonics studio.
The new products that it is presenting in Indoor elements and from the Garden Series have an emphasis on providing LED technology with warmth and on achieving the greatest efficiency using the minimum number of parts and assemblies which aid their maintenance and subsequent recycling. The new Outdoor products have focused on innovation in materials and the application of colour in the street. The objective: to give more using less.
In Indoor, Santa & Cole wishes to go beyond the domestic sphere with lamps and furniture which are comfortably installed in big public spaces, spaces for shared living which transmit an experience and meet a need.
In Outdoor, Santa & Cole focuses its efforts on publishing useful, long-lasting urban elements, conceived for everyone, made with innovative recycled and recyclable materials and manufactured by nearby industries committed to the environment.
The new Garden Series is a hybrid collection, with elements half way between domestic terraces and big public exteriors. Because Santa & Cole is committed to the warmth of technology applied to open-air spaces, and because life is also lived out of doors.
All the new products share the will to reflect a particular way of living and of feeling at ease, becoming objects sensitive to the rhythm of life in the 21st city.
