Behind Ailanto, a Barcelona-based fashion firm set up in 1992, are Iñaki and Aitor Muñoz. Its most characteristic features include its colour combinations and geometrical forms, as well as its references to avant-garde and modern artistic trends. Special attention is paid to details, the use of fine fabrics and materials provides the luxurious and light touch that balances industrial rigidity and ultra-modern aesthetics.

In 1995 Ailanto began to enter the domestic market through participation in the Gaudí shows (Barcelona) and the International Fashion Week (Madrid), distributing its collections in the country's main points of sale.

Starting from 1999, it began to have an international presence, participating in the Prêt-à-Porter Show in Paris (Atmosphères) and within the Creators' Week in Workshop Paris and Tranoï. Ailanto's main international markets are Japan, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and the United States, in addition to Belgium and Italy. Ailanto can be found in top boutiques and department stores, such as Bergdorf Goodman (NY), Penélope (Brescia), Seibu (Hong Kong), Barneys (New York), Selfridges (London), Baycrew's Spick and Span (Tokyo), The American Rag Cie (Los Angeles, San Francisco) and Aquagirl (Tokyo), Purple Phoenix (Berlin), Iris Kalaora (Istanbul) and Chaplin's (Cyprus).Since 2002, Ailanto's collections have been presented within the framework of the Pasarela Cibeles fashion show in Madrid.In June 2004 Ailanto joined the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain, which is chaired by Modesto Lomba.In November 2004, Ailanto received the “Award for Best Designer” granted annually by the magazine Glamour and the Llongueras Fashion and Image Award in the “Best Designer” category, the panel of judges being formed by editors from the sector's main magazines in Spain.
