An architect, street furniture designer and teacher, José Antonio Martínez Lapeña has worked extensively with Santa & Cole, whose catalogue includes many of the designs he has created with Elías Torres.
Juan Antonio Martínez Lapeña was born in Tarragona in 1941, obtained a technical title in architecture in 1962, and graduated in architecture in 1968 from the ETSAB (Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona.) That same year, he set up his architecture studio with Elías Torres.
This Balearic architect and designer is one of the top current Spanish architects. He has worked with José Antonio Martínez Lapeña since they opened a studio together in 1968.

Structure of welded steel profiles with anti-rust protection and powder painted black.
The structure supports panels made of different materials that are resistant to damp and impacts: FSC®-certified tropical wood panels protected with one-coat oil and resin panels.
The screws to fasten the slats and plates are made of steel treated with anti-rust protection and stainless steel, according to the material.
The bottom of the planter is a hot-dip galvanised metal mesh that can withstand weights of up to 1,000 kg. The inner tub is made of fiberglass.
The unit is delivered assembled and is simply placed on four adjustable stainless steel legs to ensure it is level. Includes assembly instructions.
