Beth Galí. 2000

A street lamp comprising two crossed poles that house a dual lighting system: the taller pole provides directed light through four revolving floodlights, whereas the lower pole provides ambient lighting through two fluorescent holder luminaires.
The positioning of the two poles is reminiscent of the Saint Patrick’s Street and Grand Parade junction in Cork (Ireland), for which it was designed.
The Sara street lamp also comes in a single version comprising a single 10 m high pole and up to 4 floodlights.
Compatible with the Arne floodlight, the luminaire has a built-in LED technology module that enables various asymmetric light distributions with differing degrees of scope and openness and symmetrical light distributions from intensive to very extensive.

Barcelona, 1950

Galí was one of the 'Generation of the 1980s' architects that sought to make Barcelona into a city of design. As an architect, urban planner and designer her work contributed to achieving the international prestige of Catalan architecture at the end of the 20th century.

Throughout the 80s, a generation of young architects was driven by the idea of building a new Barcelona, with ambitious objectives: open the city to the sea, refurbish the historic district and turn it into a pedestrian area, create new public spaces, and design modern urban elements. The new paradigm in town-planning and architecture that resulted from the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games was sold abroad as the "Barcelona model".

Materials and Finishes

Street lamp of 9.70 m, comprising two poles of differing heights made of hot-dip galvanised steel with paint finish, joined together as a cross by an AISI 316 stainless steel axis.
The tallest pole tapers and is 10 m long.
It supports four adjustable floodlights made of painted cast aluminium, a spinned aluminium reflector with anodised finish and tempered glass cover.
The other pole is 6 m long and supports two fluorescent holder luminaires. The luminaire body, casing and refractor cover are made of coextruded polycarbonate and the side caps of injected polycarbonate.

Sara Luminaire

Four revolving floodlights with semi-extensive optics that contain the auxiliary fittings and can house metal halide or high-pressure sodium discharge lamps (max. 250 W). Two-level equipment can also be provided.
Two fluorescent holder luminaires to house two linear fluorescent lamps of 58 W each. Luminaires for a single 58 W lamp can also be provided.
The luminaires have an anodised sheet aluminium reflector in the interior for optimum performance.

Sara LED Luminaire

Compatible with the Arne LED floodlight with opal symmetrical distribution.
It has a built-in LED lighting module that enables several forms of light distribution with differing degrees of range.
Compatible with most smart control systems to achieve the right type of lighting and ensure energy efficiency and minimal functional maintenance.
The various design options and lighting configurations are available in the product matrix.

39 W 36 LEDs (350 mA)
55 W 36 LEDs (500 mA)
85 W 36 LEDs (700 mA)

Installation and maintenance

The street lamp is delivered in five parts: two poles, the axis joining the poles, the luminaires, and the floodlights.
The pole is fixed using a concrete cube made on-site and anchor bolts, 24 cm below the pavement surface. A groove must be made for wiring. The template and anchor bolts are supplied with the pole.
Usual replacements and maintenance for fittings.
